HAW-ForschungsSchub: Random selection process for Call 1 completed : Date:
By the mid-September submission deadline, more than 1,500 expressions of interest had been received for the “HAW-ForschungsSchub” funding guideline under the joint programme of the Federal Government and Länder (federal states) „Research at UAS“. On September 17, 60 of these were selected by lottery to proceed to the next stage of the process.
As expected, the range of topics covered by the expressions of interest submitted was broad. The universities selected in the draw have already been informed of the result and are now required to submit a detailed full application by 13 October 2026. The applications received will then be assessed and reviewed with the involvement of external experts; the funding decision is expected to be announced in January 2027. The first projects are expected to start in spring 2027.
Higher education institutions that were not selected in the random draw will not receive a separate notification.
A further opportunity to submit expressions of interest for the HAW-ForschungsSchub scheme will arise with the launch of the second call, with a deadline of 15 March 2027.
