HAW-ForschungsraumQualifizierung: Projects are starting : Date:
In March 2025, the expert committee of the Joint Science Conference responsible for the Bund-Laender programme Research at UAS selected a total of 23 projects for funding in the HAW-ForschungsraumQualifizierung funding line. Following the opening of the federal government budget in October 2025, the projects have now been approved and are going to start.
The successful projects cover a wide range of topics, from urban farming, smart factories, and biomedical engineering to nursing sciences and educational research. Artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation also play a role in numerous projects. The total funding volume for all 23 projects amounts to around 63 million euros.
The projects are going to start between October 2025 and January 2026 and run for four years. During this period, the UAS will strategically expand their research-based qualification of students and early-career researchers in three coordinated modules: “Research Space,” “Research Project,” and “Qualification”. Moreover, they will also be strengthening their overall research and science communication skills. This will give them the opportunity to create excellent research conditions for tackling challenging research questions and innovative qualification opportunities – for internal as well as for external user groups. The research spaces are intended to create a strong appeal for the UAS and act as a magnet to attract cooperation partners and students from Germany and abroad.
