Reviewers sought for the HAW-ForschungsSchub funding scheme. : Date:
From 13 October 2026 onwards, we will be seeking reviewers to assess project proposals submitted under the ‘HAW-ForschungsSchub’ funding scheme.
Universities of Applied Sciences (UASs) are characterised by practice-based, application- and implementation-oriented research. To assess this diversity of subject areas and thematic focuses appropriately, we are seeking experts from research, industry, and professional practice to contribute their specialist knowledge to the peer review process.
The HAW-ForschungsSchub funding scheme supports universities of applied sciences (HAW) in advancing their own promising research findings through follow-up research and development activities and in taking them into the next phase of innovation. The funding scheme is open to all disciplines and combinations of subjects. Particular emphasis is placed on projects in the key technologies and strategic research fields of the High-Tech Agenda for Germany (HTAD) and their transfer into society.
As a reviewer, your contribution to an effective science and innovation system is invaluable. By providing well-founded, independent and high-quality expert assessments, you help to ensure the success and quality of the funding scheme. Your reliable and meticulous work also enables funding decisions to be made swiftly, which is in the interests of applicants and Germany’s innovative strength. You will receive a pro-rata expense allowance for your review work.
We are currently seeking reviewers for the HAW-ForschungsSchub funding scheme: the applications submitted, comprising eleven DIN A4 pages plus appendices, will be assessed by external experts as part of a peer review process.
Furthermore, we are interested in building long-term relationships with experts in research, industry, and professional practice who would like to contribute their specialist knowledge to future peer review processes.
If you would like to become a reviewer, there are two options:
- Contact the relevant person for the funding scheme directly by email. For the HAW-ForschungsSchub funding scheme, please contact: HAW-ForschungsSchub@vdi.de
- Register in our reviewer database, where you can provide details of your career history and areas of expertise. The database will then assign you applications that match your specialist areas. Register here.
Please note that the time required for peer review can vary considerably. To begin with, please allow around four hours per application, although experienced reviewers are often quicker. You may also return applications or request additional ones while the process is ongoing. Please return to us any applications where you have a conflict of interest.
